Yosemite is a park with alot to see. If you visit in the Spring the Waterfalls are beautiful. The Mariposa forest of giant sequoias is something to see,it is hard to imagine such huge majestic trees. When we were there on the full moon, they had a Yosemite by Moonlight tram ride around the park to see moonlight reflections in the park. When we went to El Capitan, they blinked the flashlight, the climbers on the mountain (hanging in their makeshift beds) flashed their lights back. I can't imagine doing that. They have programs so be sure to see what's going on when you're there. We went to a photography talk on taking pictures in the park and to an artists class on plein aire painting.

  2. Death Valley National Park is extremely interesting but also extremely hot, even if it's dry heat as everyone tells you. We went in April/May and at Furnace Creek resort it was 108 degrees! We stayed at Furnace Creek Resort RV Park and Campground, www.furnacecreekresort.com
We had full hookups, enjoyed the fabulous natural spring fed swimming pool every evening, a short walk to restaurants, laundry, Borax Museum and even the golf course. You can even rent jeeps to sightsee and go off-road. The camping was $38.00 for full hookups. You can camp at the Government Parks but they are mostly no facilities there are a very few with electric. There are a lot of beautiful sites with gorgeous land formations and sunsets, etc., but it is very hot and you really can't stay out in it long in mid day. You will see people cycling but I don't know how they do it! We spent two days at Furnace Creek as home base. We probably didn't need that many nights if we had made reservations and knew we had a place. You could sightsee in, spend the night and sightsee out. If you are in a cooler time of year I would feel different. I actually thought April would have still have been cool enough.
